In this report we highlight safer chemistry challenges and solutions in beauty and personal care.  We identify specific needs for new ingredients and materials, and provide a snapshot of innovative safer chemistry companies developing them. We also highlight the evolving landscape of brand and retailer safety and sustainability standards moving the industry forward.

Along with food, we also “eat” the packaging and materials food touches on the way to our mouth. We need to treat the materials in our packaging like the ingredients in our food and demand the healthiest options available.

In the next ten years, the textile and apparel industry will adopt new materials that deliver unprecedented performance and eliminate harmful chemicals from products and manufacturing processes, emerging as a circular and regenerative sector of the economy.
